For optimized fuel efficiency as well as power, the Escape is available in three-cylinder 1.5-liter EcoBoost, four-cylinder 2.0-liter EcoBoost, standard hybrid, or a plug-in hybrid with a 2.5-liter iVCT Atkinson-cycle engine. The transmission in the gas models is an 8-speed automatic, while the hybrid options offer electronic continuously variable transmissions. With a fuel rating of 30 mpg highway on the gas models and 40 mpg on the hybrid models, you can pass by gas stations and spend more time enjoying the scenery and your activities along the way. 

The AWD models also offer AWD Disconnect, which disengages the rear driveline when it’s not needed in order to boost your fuel economy. The Escape also allows you to change your drive mode with the turn of a dial. Standard selectable drive modes are eco, normal, sport, slippery, and deep snow/sand, so you’ll be able to tackle varying road conditions in all seasons.

All models have seating for five, and the second row boasts 60/40 split fold-down rear seats, with an all-new sliding option for more legroom, or more rear cargo space.
