Ford and Google are coming together to create unique services and capabilities for their customers and reinvent the connected vehicle experience. Consumers will be able to download features they might not initially have purchased, as well as new safety and infotainment technology that wasn’t initially available, according to Ford and Google officials. Ford and Google want to develop a more personalized shopping experience that takes advantage of the influx of online car buying. The Android-based operating system will be able to monitor a vehicle once it’s out on the road, warning owners if there’s a mechanical problem developing — while also advising them if it’s time for service, even automatically set up a dealer appointment. Technology in the 2021 Ford F-150

Through the all-new Sync 4 system, Ford partnered with TomTom Global to provide real-time traffic service in the F-150, along with the Mustang Mach-E. This technology provides accurate, real-time traffic information, which will keep Ford drivers informed. The advanced service can even predict traffic changes such as congestion before they happen and leveraging SYNC’s increased computing power to update navigation systems every 30 seconds. By taking advantage of one-of-a-kind, cloud-based voice processing, SYNC 4 can understand conversational requests, such as “Find me the best restaurant near me,” and offer suggestions to drivers. Staying in contact with friends and family also becomes easier, with natural speech recognition enabling communication via SMS and email. The 2021 F-150 offers the latest driver-assist features as part of Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, including Automatic Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Detection to help avoid a possible collision with another vehicle or a pedestrian, rearview camera with dynamic hitch assist, auto high-beam headlamps, and auto on/off headlamps.

The All-New Mustang Mach-E

We have all heard about the all-electric 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E. One of the biggest surprises was that it’s debuting as an SUV, and thanks to technological advances, this will allow placement of the lithium-ion batteries inside the vehicle’s underbody, between its two axles. Those batteries are available in both standard range (75.7 kWh) and extended range (98.8 kWh) and powered by permanent magnet motors for traveling even further. The Mach-e will also feature Ford’s SYNC® 4. Thanks to its exceptional machine-learning capability and continuous secure over-the-air updates, this interface will continuously get better over time as it automatically learns your preferences.
