Class exclusive features for the Ford Fiesta

Some of these class exclusive features are PowerShift 6 speed automatic transmission, Easy Fuel capless fuel filler, rear auxiliary 12V powerpoint, and 9 available seat material color combinations.
The Fiesta's engine and transmission
The 2012 Ford Fiesta has a Duratec 1.6 liter Ti-VCT I-4 engine that gets up to 40 miles per gallon! This is really good fuel economy for a vehicle that makes 120 horsepower and 112 lb ft of torque. This engine has 97.4 cubic inches and it has a compression ratio of 11.0:1. The fuel system is a sequential multi-port fuel injection system that only requires 87 octane gasoline. There are two transmissions available for the Ford Fiesta. Your available transmissions are a 5 speed manual, and a Powershift 6 speed automatic transmission. The Power shift automatic transmission is a class exclusive feature that provides excellent mechanical efficiency and performance advantages for the Fiesta. This transmission operates as two parallel manual transmissions with a dual clutch design managing the shifts between two gearsets. The two internal transmission gearsets divide the ratios in half, with odd gears on one gearset and even gears on the other. This setup has a dual clutch operation that is a "dry" design that is similar to a manual transmission and it does not require trans fluid to function like a traditional automatic transmission with a torque converter. This accomplishes two things, it eliminates the complexity and weight of a torque converter and it also eliminates the need for a transmission oil cooler and internal oil pump. It offers the performance and fuel efficiency similar to a manual transmission and the shift quality and ease of operation provided by a premium automatic transmission. Another benefit of this setup is that engine torque is delivered to the drive wheels 100 percent of the time. This transmission also gives you Hill Start Assist which provides improved driveability on steep inclines.
