Conventional Ford Fusion
If you decide to go with the conventional 2013 Ford fusion you have three engine options. First, there is a 170 hp 2.5 L four-cylinder it is mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. You also have the option to go with a 179 hp 1.6 L eco-boost turbocharged engine. When you choose the 1.6 L ecoboost engine, you have the option for a six speed automatic or a six speed manual transmission. Ford is estimating 26 miles per gallon in the city and 37 mpg on the highway. The third engine option for the conventional 2013 Ford fusion is a 237 hp 2.0 L eco-boost engine. That engine comes with a 6 speed automatic transmission. This 237 horsepower option is expected to get 23/33 mpg (city / highway).
2013 Fusion Hybrid
If you are concerned with fuel economy these next two options are for you! First, is the 2013 ford fusion hybrid
model. This hybrid Ford fusion has a brand-new 2.0 L Atkinson cycle four-cylinder that replaces the old 2.5 L engine. This new hybrid engine cranks out 185 hp and 130 pound feet of torque. This powertrain comes standard with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (CVT Transmission). This Ford Hybrid powertrain uses a combination of a regular combustion engine and an electric motor. The 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid can drive up to 62 mph in fully electric mode. This is up from 47 mph in the previous model. The 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid is expected to get 47 mpg city and 44 mpg highway! That fuel economy crushes the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid!
Ford Fusion Plug In Hybrid
The third and final powertrain option for the 2013 Ford fusion is the plug in hybrid that Ford is calling the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi. This is a plug-in hybrid that operates somewhat like the standard hybrid model described above. The main difference is that this particular vehicle offers the ability to use the plug-in technology. That will allow for more driving in pure electric mode! The end result is at least 100 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent)! Regardless of which Fusion model you choose, you are sure to get excellent fuel economy while still maintaining exciting performance.
One of the first things you will notice, is that this car has a much more elegant look, while being extremely aggressive at the same time. As you'll notice there are two very large Grills that add style and aerodynamics!
2013 Ford Fusion Interior
Notice the interior of the vehicle has also been completely redesigned. Ford has made it a point to cover every touchable surface with a soft material to give the car a feeling of ultra luxury at a great price. This is something that Ford calls a great value!
2013 Fusion Technology
New for the 2013 fusion, you have the available my Ford touch system. We are very excited about the pioneering features offered in the Ford Fusion. You also have an available lane keeping system. Using a camera, the car can detect if you are beginning to doze off to sleep. Then the car will simulate you running over a rumble strip on the side of the road. This is a great way to safely alert you before you actually run off the road! The end result is keeping you safe. Also, this vehicle has an available adaptive cruise control that allows you to set your cruise control to a specific speed. Then, using radar sensors in the front of the car, it can sense if the car in front of you is going too slow. The car automatically adjusts the speed. Once that car is out of your way the Ford Fusion will speed back up to your preset desired speed. This eliminates the need to use your brakes!
